Our Story
It Started with a Promise.
A hotel stay we didn’t expect to write about, and a trip that was harder to plan than it should have been — the two moments that became Milo.

Milo Say didn’t begin with a business plan. It started with a hotel stay.
Our family had always traveled and dined out, but we had never written a review. Then, after one stay, something happened that stayed with me.
We were treated with a level of care that went far beyond a typical hotel stay. Senior members of the hotel’s management personally looked after our family, paying attention to the smallest details and making us feel genuinely looked after from the moment we arrived.
Before we left, I promised I would write them a review on TripAdvisor.
I created an account just for that stay.
And somewhere along the way, I discovered that I enjoyed paying attention to the things most reviews tend to overlook — the little details that make a place work, the things that quietly get in the way, and the difference between somewhere that looks good on paper and somewhere you would actually choose again.
Around the same time, we experienced the other side of travel planning.
Preparing for a family trip to Japan took almost a week. We moved between blogs, forums, videos, maps, hotel websites, and conflicting advice, trying to piece together what we actually needed to know.
And after all that research, we still arrived and encountered the kinds of friction you can’t always find in a guidebook: getting around with children, knowing what to book ahead, understanding what would actually be convenient, and figuring out which recommendations were genuinely worth our time.
That contrast stayed with us.
On one hand, we experienced what thoughtful hospitality could feel like when someone had taken the time to get the details right.
On the other, we experienced how difficult it could be to find trustworthy, useful information before a trip.
We realized that travel didn’t really suffer from a lack of information. It suffered from having to find the right information in a sea of everything else.
That’s when the idea for Milo began to take shape.
“Travel didn’t really suffer from a lack of information. It suffered from having to find the right information in a sea of everything else.”
So We Built the Opposite.
Milo Say was built to make travel decisions simpler.
- Clear judgment
- You shouldn’t have to read twenty reviews to understand whether a place is right for you. Milo gives you a clear verdict, explains why, and tells you who it’s actually for.
- No star ratings
- A five-star hotel isn’t automatically a five-star choice for every traveler. Instead of reducing an experience to a number, Milo looks at what actually matters: experience, value, fit, friction, and memory.
- Less research
- Through Milo’s Briefs, we bring together the practical things a first-time visitor genuinely needs — from transit and connectivity to arrival logistics and family considerations.
The goal isn’t to tell you everything.
It’s to give you the useful part — the things that help you make a better decision without spending several nights finding them yourself.
Because the best travel advice isn’t the longest.
It’s the advice that helps you decide with confidence — so you can spend less time searching, and more time traveling well.
